X (Twitter) strategy: reply your way into real conversations

Reply where your buyers already read, then move the good ones into a real conversation the same day.

The play

Reply to other people's posts. That is the play. Your own posts reach the people who already follow you. Your replies reach everyone reading an account bigger than yours, which on day one is close to everyone.

So the shape is simple. A stack of replies every day under accounts your buyers already read. One original post a day so your profile has something to show when they click your name. And one place for the interested ones to land. Twenty to thirty minutes, done.

That is get the word out, capture, and don't lose it compressed onto one surface. You borrow attention in a reply, the click to your profile captures it, and a same-day DM or a link to your Aura Store keeps it from rotting. X is the fastest platform in the product for step one and the least forgiving on step three.

What this platform is actually good at

On X, being seen by strangers costs you two sentences. No camera, no editing, no production. You write two sentences and someone with a real audience hands you a slice of it for an afternoon.

The limit is memory. X forgets fast and it does not go back and show you to people who were offline when you posted. Consistency beats brilliance here in a way it does not on a blog or a channel with a back catalogue.

  • Strength: borrowed reach. A sharp reply under a big account usually beats a great post on a small one.
  • Strength: text is enough. 280 characters on a free account, no camera, no edit pass. You can write a week of material on a phone in a coffee queue.
  • Strength: conversations happen in public, so other people can see you being useful and follow without ever talking to you.
  • Limit: short half-life. Assume a post is finished working within a day and nobody scrolls back.
  • Limit: DMs are a manual channel here. There is no practical DM API for small apps, so nothing reads your X inbox for you.

Get the word out

Build a list before you build a habit. Pick 10 to 15 accounts whose replies your actual buyers read, not the biggest accounts in your industry. A niche account with 8,000 engaged followers is worth more to you than a celebrity founder whose replies are 400 deep in under a minute.

Then show up under them daily. Speed matters: a reply in the first twenty minutes gets read, a reply three hours later gets buried. Turn on notifications for those accounts and treat the alert as your cue.

  1. Check your 10 to 15 accounts twice a day, morning and early evening, and leave 5 to 10 replies that add something specific: a number from your own work, a counterexample, a step they skipped.
  2. Post one original thing a day, pulled from what you actually did that week. "Client asked for X, here is what I found" outperforms opinions.
  3. Once a week, write your best idea as a thread and put the link to your Aura Store in a reply under it, not in the post itself.
  4. Once a week, quote-post someone with a real take of your own attached. Agreement with a reason counts, empty praise does not.
  5. Once a week, open 3 to 5 DMs with people who replied to you or whose posts you have replied to more than once.

The reply is the ad, the post is the landing page

Someone reads your reply under an account they trust, clicks your name, and lands on your profile. That is the entire funnel on X. Which means your pinned post and your last three posts are doing more selling than anything else you own here. Keep them current.

Capture the interest

The click is the capture. Everything else is downstream of whether your profile answers "what does this person do and where do I get it" in three seconds. Bio names the outcome, pinned post proves it, link goes to your Aura Store at aurablaster.com/yourname.

On X, calls to action work best when they are cheap and public. Asking for a DM is a small ask. Asking someone to fill out a form is not. Bare links dropped on strangers read as spam, so earn the click first, then make the link easy to find.

  • "Wrote a longer version of this. Say the word and I'll DM you the link."
  • "Doing this for three clients right now. If you want the checklist we use, my DMs are open."
  • "Full breakdown in the reply below." (then the Aura Store link goes in that reply)
  • First DM: "You said hourly billing is eating you alive. What fixed it for us was charging by outcome. What are you on now?"

Notice what the first message does. It names the exact post they engaged with, gives one line of real value, and ends with a question. No pitch, no calendar link. You are trying to get a second message, not a sale.

Don't lose it

X runs on hours, not days. A reply to your reply that comes back tomorrow is a dead conversation. If someone DMs you at 2pm and you answer at 9am the next morning, they have already moved on to whoever answered first.

The failure mode is specific and it will happen to you: a post pops, you get forty replies and a dozen DMs in one evening, you answer eight of them, and the rest sit unread forever. The good ones are usually in the unread pile. Cap your outbound to what you can actually respond to.

Follow-up cadence that works without being annoying: reply same day, one useful nudge on day three, one final one around day eight, then stop asking and just keep showing up in their replies. Three touches, then patience.

Be clear about the tooling. Aura Blaster does not read your X inbox, so inbound on X is your job. Blast Queue still hands you the draft and deep-links you into the DM, and "Remind me" brings the day-three follow-up back to you instead of leaving it in your head. Check X DMs at the same time every day and the whole thing holds.

Set it up in Aura Blaster

X is handle-based. Go to Channels, pick X, and save your @handle. That tags Blast Queue items to X and points every deep link at your account.

Auto-posting is supported through the X API v2, but it needs your own developer app. Create one on X, authorize posting, and Aura Blaster can publish your posts on schedule. Until you do that, X still works fully in the queue: items deep-link you to the X composer or your DMs with the draft already loaded, so you paste-check-send instead of staring at an empty box.

  • Persona: write how you actually talk, including a couple of sample lines. 280 characters punishes throat-clearing, and the drafts will inherit whatever rhythm you give it. Put your purchase link in here too.
  • Strategy: set your posting frequency, goal, and tone, and do not exclude X if you want reply volume. This is what shapes what the Blast Queue hands you.
  • Blast Queue: one move at a time. A reply to write, people to engage, a post to publish. Use "Remind me" on anything you cannot do right now and check Calendar for reminders plus scheduled posts.
  • Magic Queue: it covers your connected inbound channels. X is not one of them, which is an argument for moving warm X conversations to email or another connected channel, or straight to your Aura Store.

What kills it

Dead X accounts almost always died one of these ways. None of them are about the writing being bad.

  • Broadcasting only from your own account and wondering why nothing moves. Fix: half your daily time goes into replies under other people's posts, minimum.
  • Replying with "this" and a fire emoji. Fix: every reply carries one specific thing they did not say, or you skip it.
  • Dropping your link on strangers. Fix: link in bio, link in your pinned post, link in a reply under your own thread. Never cold in someone else's mentions.
  • Posting nine times the day you feel inspired, then nothing for two weeks. Fix: write them all, then let the queue and the Calendar release one a day.
  • Writing DMs like emails, with a greeting, three paragraphs, and a calendar link. Fix: two sentences and a question, answered in hours.
  • Assuming something caught the DM for you. Fix: Aura Blaster does not read your X inbox, so open the app yourself at a fixed time every day.

Your first two weeks

One thing at a time. Work straight down the list — every line is a single move you can finish today, and none of them needs the one under it to be done first.

  • Save your @handle on the Channels page and set your Strategy tone, frequency, and goal.
  • Fill in Persona with your offer, your objections, your purchase link, and two lines written the way you actually talk.
  • Publish your Aura Store page and put its link in your X bio.
  • Build a list of 10 to 15 accounts your buyers read and turn on post notifications for each.
  • Write a pinned post that says what you do and who it is for, and pin it.
  • Leave 5 replies a day for five straight days before judging anything.
  • Create your X developer app and authorize posting so Blast Queue can publish on schedule.
  • Post one thread of your best idea and drop the Store link in a reply under it.
  • Open 5 DMs with people who replied to you, using the post they engaged with as the opener.
  • Set a fixed daily time to check X DMs and use Blast Queue "Remind me" for every day-three follow-up.
